If you have ever tried to win the fight with spam I think that you should let it go. Why? Because it isn’t a fair fight. Comparing this issue to war we can be sure that there is no better solution than just focus on defense. Why? Because forces of “spam lord” have outnumbered our troops. What have left for people that need to stay alive but only few are still able to fight? This tactic is called camping and is well known from many years in battle craft. This tactic requires good place (good spam filter) and good soldiers (good web filter). In my opinion this is the only way in which we can make that fight not meaningless. But when to let go? The fight on the open battlefield – right away. Defense – never. If we want to stay alive in the world of internet we can never let go fight with spam. Tools which I mentioned before are really important but setting them on does not mean we can drop our cautious. Viruses and spyware software are just waiting for such occasion. We also should update our url filter and every filter installed on every occasion because that will allow them to react on every new type of treat which might be interested in getting in to our mailboxes and dealing some damage.
