We filtering in public institutions

Public institutions such as libraries or offices often use computer programmes whose function is Web filtering . They usually provide an access to a computer and to the Internet for their visitors, but with a specific purpose in mind. People who enter public buildings and sit in front of government-funded appliances should look through library catalogues in search of a particular book or through an office resources in order to learn about the mechanisms of its operating. Unfortunately, people cannot always be trusted to do the right thing. Many of such visitors go inside only to quickly check their emails, read some gossip or book a plane ticket online. At the same time they take up space instead of someone who has a legitimate reason for being there and has to wait for his turn. Thankfully, this problem can be easily solved by installing a web filtering programme which offers an abundance of options, including blocking sites of certain content. The best idea for filtering not only the Internet browsing behaviour, but also the visitors is to leave access only to one url address. In the case of a library this would be a link to its catalogue which pops up instead of a browser. This way the authorities can be sure that people have a particular purpose to visit an institution.
